Types of Massage Therapy

Welcome to Niche Massage

Every session here is built for you, shaped by what your body is carrying when you walk through the door. Aromatherapy, hot towels, cupping and therapeutic tools like the Theragun come standard with every massage at no extra charge, because they’re part of how the work gets done right.

Nichelle listens differently. She tracks what you say, what you hold in your body, and what you can’t quite put into words, then builds the session around what she finds. Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, positional release, myofascial, and neuromuscular work are all in her toolkit, and she pulls from them based on what your body needs that day, not a preset plan.

What its for

This is the signature treatment, and it belongs to you alone. By intuitively blending the soothing flow of Swedish/Integrative massage with the precision and depth of therapeutic pressure, plus a wide selection of other modalities, this session supports your relaxation needs, your nervous system, and your tissue demands all at once.

The Niche Difference

Nichelle draws on her clinical and medical knowledge, sharpened over 21 years of practice and education, to shift between relaxing and corrective work within a single session. She weighs what you share during the interview against what she feels in your body, so no two sessions are ever the same, and you’ll leave feeling both lighter and refreshed.

What it is

Offered in 90 and 120 minutes only, and here's why that matters

Deep tissue at Niche is slow, layered work that draws on myofascial release, neuromuscular technique, trigger point therapy and Sarga barefoot bodywork. Each of those takes time, because each one adjusts to how your tissue answers back. Nichelle works with the response she’s feeling under her hands, not against it, and that conversation between pressure and tissue can’t be rushed into an hour.

Why no 60-minute option

Real deep tissue work isn’t about bypassing what your nervous system is telling you, and it isn’t grinding on muscle fibers until they give up. That approach leaves you sore and braced, and it doesn’t hold. Working correctly, layer by layer, waiting for the tissue to soften before going deeper, simply takes 90 minutes at a minimum. A 60-minute deep tissue session would force Nichelle to either rush the work or skip the parts that make it worth doing, and she won’t do either.

Foot Work

Booking deep tissue means you’re comfortable with Sarga, barefoot bodywork where Nichelle uses her feet and a fabric strap anchored above the table to deliver deep, broad, sustained pressure. Where hands work in inches, Sarga works in long even strokes, so the pressure reaches deeper and holds steadier than hands alone can manage over a long session. That depth and consistency is exactly what layered deep tissue work needs. If barefoot pressure isn’t for you, the Therapeutic Niche Massage is the better fit, and it’s a great one.

What you'll leave with

Tension that actually released instead of retreating, and a body that feels worked with rather than worked over. Choose 90 minutes for focused areas, or 120 if you’re carrying tension in more than one place and want the time to address all of it.

What its for

This session runs on two tracks at once. Nichelle combines Fascial Stretch Therapy, assisted stretching that opens up your joints and the connective tissue around them, priming the tissue, preparing it for hands-on tissue work that digs into the muscles, doing the heavy lifting. One lengthens and mobilizes, the other releases and repairs, and together they cover ground neither can reach alone.

Why the highly active body loves it

If you train hard, your body pays for it in ways a standard massage doesn’t fully answer. Tissue work alone loosens the knots but leaves the joint restrictions that put them there. Stretching alone frees the range of motion but skips the tension buried deep in the muscle. Sports Massage handles both in the same hour, so you leave with more room to move and less to fight through the next time you train.

This is the session for the runner three weeks out from a race, the lifter whose hips have stopped cooperating, the weekend athlete who wants to keep showing up without breaking down. Nichelle reads what your sport is asking of your body and works accordingly, whether that means prepping you for the season ahead or helping you recover from the one behind you.

What You'll Feel

Looser joints, quieter muscles and a body that finally matches the effort you put into it. Book it before a big event to move well, or after to recover faster, and text Nichelle at 210.854.1410 if you want help timing it to your training calendar.

Beyond the Signature, DeepTissue, and Sports Massage work, Nichelle keeps a set of specialized modalities on hand for the situations that call for something specific. These aren’t add-ons to another massage. Each one is its own session, chosen because your body is asking for exactly this.

Reach Out

Not sure which of these your body is asking for? That’s a normal question, and it’s one Nichelle would rather answer before you book than after. Text 210.854.1410, tell her what’s going on, and she’ll point you to the session that fits.

Unique Services

Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Sarga Bodywork, and Fascial Stretch Therapy

Sarga is a barefoot massage, with Nichelle using her feet and a fabric strap anchored below the table to deliver deep, sustained pressure across wide areas of the body. Where hands work in inches, Sarga works in broad sweeping strokes, so the pressure is deeper and more even than hands alone can hold. It’s a favorite for anyone who runs cold on lighter work and wants full, grounding compression that reaches the big muscle groups of the back and legs.

As a full session, Sarga is the whole time: broad, grounding feet compression from start to finish. Inside a deep tissue session, it plays a supporting role, one tool Nichelle reaches for when your tissue needs that depth. Book it here when the sustained barefoot pressure is the main thing you’re after.

Sarga Bodywork

Broad, grounded pressure delivered from the feet.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Gentle, precise and built for recovery

Manual Lymphatic Drainage works with your lymphatic system, the network that clears fluid, swelling and waste out of your tissues. Using light, rhythmic and deliberate strokes, Nichelle encourages that fluid to move the way it’s supposed to, which makes this session a strong choice after surgery, during illness recovery or any time your body is holding swelling it can’t seem to release. The pressure is feather-light on purpose, and the results do the heavy work.

Fascial Stretch Therapy works the fascia, the connective web that ties your whole body together and quietly limits your range of motion when it tightens. As a Level 3 Fascial Stretch Therapist trained at the Stretch to Win Institute, Nichelle moves you through gentle, assisted stretches on the table, opening up joints and easing the tension that solo stretching never quite reaches. You stay clothed, you stay comfortable, and you leave moving the way you did before your body started keeping score. Wear something stretchy you can move in
